This course is a survey of the major landform features found on the Earth¿s surface. Descriptive geomorphology in which landforms are identified and described qualitatively is covered together with process geomorphology in which landforms are examined in terms of the physical and/or chemical processes leading to their genesis and subsequent evolution. The course is intended to familiarize students with the broad array of Earth surface processes, methods of map analysis, practical applications of the subject matter, and to serve as a stepping stone to more focused studies in hydrology, soils, and environmental geology.
